Boynton Beach is set to ring in the holiday season with a tree-lighting ceremony and a parade
The city's Christmas tree and menorah-lighting ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Ocean Avenue Amphitheatre. After the tree is lit at 6:30 p.m., a free Wonderama concert will be presented by the Community Redevelopment Agency.
There will be vendors, kids activities, food and beverages for purchase and a visit from Santa Claus. Pets are not allowed. For more information on the Dec. 5 festivities, call 561-600-9097
The following night, the city will host its annual holiday parade. Now in its 44th year, the free, city-sponsored event will include floats, marching bands and dance troupes. Santa Claus is also set to make an appearance.
The parade starts at 3 p.m. on the corner of 12th Avenue and Federal Highway, and continues north to Ocean Avenue in downtown Boynton Beach.
