Michael Simon

Michael Simon, Executive Director, has over 25 years of experience in both public and private sector commercial and residential redevelopment projects ranging from owner developer to joint ventures. Michael first joined the Boynton Beach CRA in September 2006 as an acquisition and development consultant. In 2007, he became the Agency’s Development Director committed to shaping future development initiatives and was promoted to the CRA’s Assistant Director in 2013.

Prior to joining the Boynton Beach CRA, Michael held the position of Development Manager for the Delray Beach CRA and the City of Delray Beach’s Community Development Division Coordinator over the CDBG, SHIP, HOME and local grant programs. Michael is a graduate of Stetson University in Deland, Florida with a B.A. in Sociology and has held his active real estate salesperson license in the State of Florida since 1999.

Michael is a member of the Florida Redevelopment Association and holds the FRA’s Redevelopment Administrator’s certification; a member of the Realtor’s Association of the Palm Beaches and Realtor’s Commercial Alliance, member of Palm Beach County Business Development Board and has served on the Marina Village at Boynton Beach Master Association Board of Directors since 2007. Michael is a second generation native Floridian, born in Bethesda Hospital and raised in both Boynton Beach and Delray Beach.

Thuy Shutt

Thuy (“Twee”) T. Shutt joined the staff as Assistant Director, in July 2017. Thuy is a licensed architect and a certified FRA Redevelopment Administrator with more than 23 years of professional experience in the public and private sectors. Originally from Vietnam, she grew up in the D.C. metropolitan area and graduated from the College of Architecture and Urban Studies at Virginia Tech. Shutt began her career in the D.C. area and then moved to South Florida. She served as Principal Planner for Palm Beach County Zoning Division and progressed to community redevelopment as the City of Delray Beach’s first Urban Designer and later as a Senior Land Entitlement Manager for Centex Homes and Assistant Director of Palm Beach County’s Westgate/Belvedere Homes CRA. Most recently she was the Assistant Director of the City of Delray Beach CRA and is currently a member of the Palm Beach AIA Women in Architecture.

Thuy has also served on a number of advisory boards, including Delray Beach Planning & Zoning, Site Plan Review and Appearance, Housing Authority, Large Home Task Force, and the County’s Infill Redevelopment Task Force, Urban Redevelopment Area and Land Development Regulatory Board Subcommittees, and the PBC Overall Economic Development Program Committee.

Vicki Hill

Vicki Hill joined the Boynton Beach CRA team in 2010 as the Finance Specialist and was promoted to Finance Director in June 2017. She worked for the School Board of Broward County, FL for 15 years and her last position held was as a Construction Auditor. She is also a Gulf War Veteran of the United States Navy.

Vicki is a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University where she has her Bachelors in Organizational Management with a concentration in Human Resource Management and she holds a Master’s Degree in Business. Vicki serves as Treasurer for the Delray Beach Community Land Trust, is a member of the Board of Directors for the Delray Beach American Baseball League, is the Sunset Park Home Owner’s Association President and is the Finance Secretary for the North Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Vicki resides in Delray Beach, FL and is married with two children.

Theresa Utterback

Theresa Utterback joined the CRA staff in 2009. Working as the Development Services Specialist, Theresa implements and manages the CRA Economic Development Grant Programs along with assisting in various CRA development projects.   Previous professional background includes paralegal assistance to William H. Lefkowitz, Esq. and assistant to CFO of Burger Yachts, South Florida Division. For twenty years Theresa owned and operated two businesses, RAU, Inc. a commercial development/management firm and Island Art Studio, specializing in the production of custom art pieces for commercial and residential interior projects. Prior to joining the Boynton Beach CRA Ms. Utterback served as the project/operating manager of RDCB, Inc. a privately held construction firm specializing in custom designed estates.

Jobara Jenkins

Jobara Jenkins, Finance Specialist, joined the Boynton Beach CRA in May of 2017 and brings twenty years of accounting experience. Jobara has held positions that include working as an Internal and External Auditor, Senior Financial Reporting Analyst and an Interim Controller.

Jobara graduated from Florida Metropolitan University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration.
Jobara was a 2008 and 2010 recipient of the Cambridge Who’s Who Among Executives, Professionals, and Entrepreneurs. Jobara is active in her local community where she volunteers time for charity, which includes feeding the homeless and mentoring young girls. Jobara is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and serves as a member of the executive board.

Tracy Smith-Coffey

Tracy Smith-Coffey, Marketing and Business Development Specialist brings eighteen years of experience to the Boynton Beach CRA by creating and promoting a business district through social, economic and cultural growth. Since she began her career as a business district President for Antique Row Art and Design District in West Palm Beach, Tracy has worked on hundreds of issues affecting the area, serving in numerous roles that involved the City of West Palm Beach, business and property owners, as well as the area's surrounding community.

Prior to joining the Boynton Beach CRA in 2013, Tracy worked for the Lake Worth CRA and was responsible for marketing, promoting and ensuring community enrichment through the LULA Lake Worth Arts Program with branding efforts for Downtown Lake Worth. Her well-established skills in marketing, business development and event planning were apparent, as Tracy worked extensively on branding LULA Lake Worth Arts with a social networking campaign, interactive website, walker’s maps of Downtown Lake Worth and the arts-related business on the Dixie Highway corridor.

Tracy’s long-term goals for the Boytnon Beach CRA district are economic strength, sustainability, and improved quality of life for the residents and downtown businesses. A firm believer in interacting with business owners, Tracy’s marketing skills builds on the unique character of the area while improving the community awareness of the business district and special events.

Mercedes Coppin

Mercedes Coppin joined the Boynton Beach CRA in July 2016, as the Marketing, Events, and Economic Development Assistant. In January 2017, she was promoted to the position of Special Events Coordinator. Her diverse skill set and outgoing personality serve her well in the position which oversees planning, developing, and executing various special events that the CRA hosts throughout the year.

In 2014, Mercedes received her Bachelors in Multimedia Journalism from Florida Atlantic University with a special focus on Women’s Studies. She is a proud member of The Honor Societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa. Mercedes is an avid writer, reader, and proponent for community outreach. She is working to establish her first blog, Kindred Times, which will encourage individuals to spread kindness by utilizing their time, talents, and treasures to foster a sense of community. Mercedes lives in Boynton Beach, Florida with her family.

Bonnie Nicklien

Bonnie Nicklien joined the Boynton Beach CRA in November 2016 as the Administrative Assistant after relocating to South Florida from northern Georgia by way of Virginia. Prior to moving to Florida, she served as Office & Operations Manager of an outdoor education and adventure business within the State Park system of Northern Virginia. It is during her experience she realized how local businesses become the backbone of any great community. Bonnie is passionate about seeing citizens come together to better their community and is proud to be part of an agency that plays a vital role in that process. Bonnie is anxious to put her talents, knowledge and leadership skills to use for the Boynton Beach CRA.

Bonnie graduated from Georgia College State University in 2010 with a Bachelors in Health Education and now resides in Delray Beach with her husband and dog, Ila.

Azim Hussain

Azim Hussain became a part of the Boynton Beach CRA team in March of 2017 as the Marketing, Events, and Economic Development Assistant. Azim graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 2016 with a B.A. of Communications, and a minor in Marketing. His previous experience and college focus has given him an excellent insight to helping the Boynton Beach CRA achieve their goals. His personality and skill set fits perfectly for the Marketing, Events, and Economic Development assistant role, where he will be assisting in elevating the community of Boynton Beach.
Prior to joining the CRA he held a position as the Public Relations and Social Media CRM to a South Florida semi-pro soccer team. In this position he managed the team’s website, blog, and social media channels, where he was expected to grow the team’s brand, and gain public awareness.
As a Florida native, Azim has always enjoyed sports. He played competitive soccer for twelve years, eight of which were on a state level. He also played in a number of junior golf tours from the age of ten, until his completion of high school. Today, Azim utilizes his past experience in sports, to benefit him in the work place by being a team player and motivating him to consistently grow his skills not only in his CRA position, but in his personal life as well.
Azim is excited to assist the CRA in growing, and unifying the community of Boynton Beach in every way he can.

Matthew Meinzer

Matthew Meinzer joined the Boynton Beach CRA in April 2017 as the Social Media Business Consultant.

Graduated from Full Sail University in Orlando of October 2014 as salutatorian with a degree in sports marketing and media.

Born in Coral Springs and raised in South Florida

Part time work with the Florida Panthers and past experience with the Orange Bowl Committee for grass roots marketing. Volunteer work with Orlando City Soccer Club, Florida Sports Commission, Orlando Solar Bears including promotional marketing and public relation endeavors.

Digital Marketing and Operations Manager for a website startup named eventgrabber.com which sought to attract more attention to businesses in the downtown Orlando venue. It is here where Matthew gained the knowledge and skills both market and manage online assets such as social media platforms.

While working with the CRA, Matthew hopes to use his knowledge of digital and social media marketing to help the small business owners in the city of Boynton Beach reinvigorate their online presence and help attract new attention to their doors in an effort that benefits the entire district.

Jamil Donith

Jamil Donith is the second Social Media Business Consultant to join the Boynton Beach CRA in July of 2017.

Originally from Eugene, Oregon and a graduate of Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Jamil has lived in several states before landing here in South Florida in September of 2015.

She loves working with people, has a passion for creating unique content and comes with a diverse set of social media skills from working in TV news and communications for more than six years.

Working as a multi-media journalist and freelance entrepreneur, Jamil has a vast knowledge of digital platforms from promoting her professional pages to helping develop and/or manage previous employers’ websites and social media accounts.

Jamil hopes to bring her experience in photography, storytelling, and production to the Social Media Outreach Program to help small businesses grow their online presence and improve the community of Boynton Beach.
