The new date for when developers while break ground on the 500 Ocean residential/retail development in Boynton Beach is July 9.
In April, project developer Tom Hayden said he expected it to be about mid-May. Mayor Jerry Taylor gave the new date at a strategic planning meeting on Tuesday.
The project calls for 341 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, which are to be up to a special green building certification, more than 6,000 square feet of office space and three electric vehicle charger stations.
The CRA board approved a $4.39 million incentive package for the project.
City officials are looking forward to this project and hope it will bring other businesses to the downtown area.
