Boynton Beach plans holiday events through the month of December
It wouldn't be Christmas in South Florida without a boat parade and other festivities that accompany the season.
Vivian Brooks, director of the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency, said this year's holiday events will be even bigger and better than in previous years.
"This year there is more to see," she said. "Our tree is bigger and better and we have added more lights to the decorations around the city. It's also an opportunity for us to show off our new marina building located next to the Two Georges restaurant."
Part of the CRA's goal is to bring people into the downtown area, Brooks said, and for people to see that it is safe and fun with restaurants and shops.
This year's 44th annual Holiday Boat Parade will set sail on Dec. 12 at the Boynton Beach Harbor Marina by the Two Georges restaurant. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. and the parade begins at 6:30 p.m. The boats will start north of the Boynton Beach Inlet and proceed south to Delray Beach.
Viewing areas include: 728 Casa Loma Blvd. and additional viewing available at the Intracoastal Park: 2240 N. Federal Highway.
Bring a new unwrapped toy and support Toys for Tots.
Other holiday events include:
